Today in class, we had one of the Graphic Design Festival Scotland organisers come in and speak to us about the festival and how they came about. Two university students had both travelled all over Europe to attend design festivals and thought to themselves why do we not have anything like this in Scotland? This was when GDFS came along.

Graphic Design Festival Scotland (GDFS) is an international organisation promoting creativity, innovation, collaboration and challenging ways of thinking through a programme of workshops, talks, discussions, exhibitions, competitions, music and public artwork. The festival takes place between the 20th-25th October and is located in The Lighthouse Glasgow.

I found the talk really inspiring by hearing how much effort is put into the festival, what goes on in the background and the opportunities available to those who attend. This is a great event for all designers to attend, I can’t wait to see what it will be like!
